This must be done by Sunday, March 4, as we plan to present your comments to the commision on March 5!

Below you can type our your letter to the First Five Commission asking them to award us the grant for the Morse Park Community Playground. We have included some sample text that you can use as a guideline, however to help our case, we highly recommend that you use your own words.

Dear Council Commission Member,

I am writing, as a resident of Elk Grove, to ask your consideration of funding the Playground Partners Children’s Action Grant.  Playground Partners is a group of Elk Grove residents building a unique playground and water sprayground for Elk Grove’s children and families. I believe this playground is exactly the kind of project intended to be funded by your grant because:

•	Make neighbors more helpful / supportive of each other 
•	Increase awareness of community resources & encourage parents to use them
•	Create safer physical environments for healthy child development
•	Bring parents together so they can network / help each other

Your approval of this grant request will help unite our disparate city and bring about a new found sense of pride and accomplishment.  We learn and by example teach our children the value of volunteerism and social investment.  Planning, fundraising, and building this playground will bring strangers together and turn them into caring neighbors.  The playground, once completed, will serve children and families all over Elk Grove and serve as a focal point for community members to continue building friendships and supportive relationships.
