Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente is the nation’s largest nonprofit health plan, serving 8.7 million members, with headquarters in Oakland, California. Kaiser Permanente was born out of the challenge of providing Americans medical care during the Great Depression and World War II, when most people could not afford to go to a doctor. As you may know, Kaiser Permanente plans a $300 million expansion in our area which includes a $30 million adult level II trauma center. They have invited the public to dinner on Tuesday October 9th from 6:00-8:00pm to discuss their expansion plans for health care services in Elk Grove and South Sacramento.
