On Tuesday, October 2, they presented a check for $10,000 to the CSD Playground Partners.

Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente is the nation’s largest nonprofit health plan, serving 8.7 million members, with headquarters in Oakland, California. Kaiser Permanente was born out of the challenge of providing Americans medical care during the Great Depression and World War II, when most people could not afford to go to a doctor. As you may know, Kaiser Permanente plans a $300 million expansion in our area which includes a $30 million adult level II trauma center. They have invited the public to dinner on Tuesday October 9th from 6:00-8:00pm to discuss their expansion plans for health care services in Elk Grove and South Sacramento. I am pleased to tell you that tonight the Elk Grove City Council unanimously approved $50,000 for Playground Partners!

Thank you to all of you who emailed, showed up tonight, and have been working so hard to get the word out!

This is a fantastic project and now the City agrees!

Tonight was a fabulous and VERY large step forward, along with the $50,000 we received from River City Bank last Sunday. However, we still have a ways to go.

Right now, we really need more steering committee volunteers and people to take the lead on business sponsorships. I can tell you that the more we raise the easier it will be to get funds.

This would not have happened were it not for your active support!

Let’s get excited about using those power tools…..
