The Consumnes Community Services District builds and maintains our park system. They budgeted a certain amount for this park several years ago. However, park construction costs (just like home construction costs) have risen dramatically over the past few years. Therefore the amount budgeted does not go as far as it once did.
In addition, Playground Partners wants to add additional features not normally found in public parks such as the water sprayground, separate Tot Lot, and more shade structures. CSD is generously contributing over $100,000 toward the playground, but this only represents approximately 1/3 of the total proposed cost.
